Pulmonologist

The Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) is a leading group of over 1,800 physicians in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., exclusively caring for Kaiser Permanente patients. We invite applications for a specialist in Interventional Pulmonology. The primary work locations will be in the D.C. and Northern VA areas of the region.

Unlike other U.S. health systems, MAPMG is built and led by physicians who earn competitive salaries, without income based on providing individual services. Our medical group comprises board-certified physicians across 60+ specialties.

MAPMG physicians use a comprehensive electronic health record (EHR) to coordinate care. Our focus is on long-term health, prevention, diagnosing, and treating diseases effectively.

MAPMG researchers and staff support innovative ideas, ensuring quality care, educational programming, and advancing best practices through research.

What You Can Expect

• Primarily procedural based pulmonology at Holy Cross, VHC (Virginia Hospital Center), Inova, Doctor’s Hospital, and Caton Hill/Woodbridge, VA as needed.
• Work for a robust program (13 pulmonologists in the region) with organization wide state of the art AI integration in conjunction with an Epic based EMR.
• New evaluations = 30 minutes / Routine Follow-Up = 30 minutes
• The opportunity to build a region wide interventional pulmonology program and partner with our thoracic surgery team.
• No ICU requirements
• Starting Spring of 2027, on-call 1 weekend out of every 10 weekends (rounding required)
• Favorable weekend and holiday call schedule

Minimum Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Eligible in Pulmonology
• Fellowship training in interventional pulmonology required
• Currently licensed or able to obtain licenses in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia

The starting annual salary for this position is $380,000 which considers an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, training, market data, and other relevant factors. In addition to the salary range above, MAPMG offers rich benefits that add substantial value to the total compensation package.
