Job Description
IRMC is seeking a Certified Physician Assistant for our Pulmonology Department.
Responsibility
Minimum Education Required: The Physician Assistant (PA) shall have the
knowledge and competency to perform the following functions:
1. Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
2. Graduation from an accredited AMA Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAAHEP)–approved program.
Licensure/Certification Required
1. Certification by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Physician Assistant.
2. Licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
3. Maintains current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification — required or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
4. Must be Basic Life Support (BLS) certified or obtain certification within one (1) month of hire.
Essential Skills
- Possesses strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
- Maintains hearing and visual acuity necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Adheres to the responsibilities and scope of practice of the Physician Assistant profession in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Meets criteria for Allied Health Professional status at Indiana Regional Medical Center.
Desired Experience
1. Prior experience as a Physician Assistant, RN, or equivalent clinical role.
2. Experience utilizing telehealth equipment and processes.
