Position Overview

The Pharmacist in Charge will oversee daily retail pharmacy operations, ensure safe and compliant medication dispensing, manage inventory, and lead Pharmacy Technicians. The role requires strong retail pharmacy management, regulatory knowledge, and team leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and dispense prescriptions accurately and in compliance with applicable laws.
• Oversee daily pharmacy operations, workflow, inventory, and medication storage.
• Maintain accurate patient profiles and dispensing records.
• Provide medication information and guidance to patients.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Fraud, Waste, and Abuse requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Lead, schedule, and support Pharmacy Technicians.
• Provide performance feedback and communicate staffing or performance concerns to management.
• Ensure employees follow pharmacy policies and procedures.
• Monitor inventory to prevent shortages, expiration, or deterioration.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• PharmD degree required.
• Active Illinois Pharmacist License required.
• 5+ years of retail pharmacy management experience.
• Experience leading Pharmacy Technicians.
• Experience with pharmacy patient management systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Fluent in English.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods.

Ability to perform fine motor tasks and handle pharmacy equipment and materials.
