How you’ll contribute 

A Certified Respiratory Therapist who excels in this role:

* Maintains up-to-date knowledge of oxygen delivery methods and equipment;
monitors for and addresses potential side effects.
* Administers ordered respiratory therapy treatments; understands indications,
dosing parameters, and possible adverse effects.
* Sets up and monitors mechanical ventilators; performs associated
critical-care duties such as airway management and tracheal suctioning.
* Assesses pain that interferes with function or rehabilitation participation
and notifies the physician for appropriate intervention.
* Performs arterial punctures to obtain ABG samples; recognizes potential
complications and contraindications.
* Performs EKGs, documents/reports results per department procedure, routes to
requesting providers, and files reports appropriately.
* Collaborates with physicians, nursing and rehabilitation staff to coordinate
care and optimize outcomes.
* Ensures accurate, timely documentation in the medical record and adheres to
infection prevention and safety practices.
* Maintains equipment readiness; follows department policies, competency
requirements, and quality improvement activities.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for  

Applicants should be a graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory
Therapy.  Additional requirements include:

* Current state Respiratory Therapist license
* Current CPR certification (BLS required; ACLS per unit requirements or
preferred)
* Three (3)+ years of cardiopulmonary/respiratory care experience highly
preferred.
