Job Description
. This contract, on-site position offers an excellent opportunity for an Associate-level physician to provide essential patient care in a dynamic clinical environment. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality internal medicine services to a diverse patient population.
In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a wide range of adult medical conditions, managing chronic illnesses, and promoting preventive care. You will collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including specialists, nurses, and support staff, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care. This locum position is ideal for a dedicated physician looking to make an immediate impact in a community-focused medical practice.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive internal medicine care to adult patients in an on-site clinical setting.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, including diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease.
- Conduct thorough patient examinations, take medical histories, and order and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Develop and implement patient-centered treatment plans and manage ongoing care for chronic conditions.
- Prescribe and manage medications, therapies, and other treatment modalities as appropriate.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Perform routine physical examinations and provide preventive health screenings and immunizations.
- Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and treatment options.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient records in compliance with medical standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to clinical best practices.
- Stay current with advancements in internal medicine through continuing medical education.
- Adhere to all relevant medical regulations, ethics, and practice guidelines.
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine.
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of Minnesota.
- Associate-level experience in internal medicine or a related clinical setting.
- Strong clinical skills in diagnosing and managing complex medical conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient and team interactions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site clinical environment.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality patient care.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Current DEA registration and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts
No call requirement
Setting: Outpatient
Patient Volume: 12 per day
EMR: CPRS
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
Additional Certifications: DEA, ACLS, and BLS
