About This Role

The Dental Hygienist is responsible for providing preventive and therapeutic dental hygiene services to patients while promoting oral health and overall wellness. This role performs dental cleanings, patient education, screenings, and other clinical services in accordance with established standards and Evara Health protocols.

What You'll Do

• Dental Assessment & Patient Care
• Assess patients using medical history, dental charting, radiographs, intraoral photos, periodontal charting, and vital signs as needed.
• Provide routine preventive and periodontal care, including debridement, prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, polishing, X-rays, sealants, fluoride, and silver diamine fluoride.

• Patient Education & Care Planning
• Develop and implement individualized dental care plans under dentist supervision, including patient education, discharge planning, and family teaching.
• Educate patients on oral health needs and collaborate with the dental team to support effective treatment and continuity of care.

• Clinical Collaboration & Telehealth
• Provide chair-side assistance during special tests, procedures, and complex treatments and support dental screenings in collaboration with the medical department.
• Complete diagnostic imaging and dental charting for asynchronous telehealth visits and communicate relevant patient observations and treatment information to the dental team.

• Documentation & Patient Support
• Accurately document dental histories, chief complaints, clinical observations, patient responses, lab procedures, follow-up needs, and other patient data in the EHR.
• Perform patient triage, support admission and discharge processes, assist with reception and telephone duties, and make recall calls to maintain hygiene schedule utilization.

• Clinic Operations & Inventory
• Support improvements to patient recall systems and assist with maintaining efficient patient flow and daily clinic operations.
• Guide monthly inventory processes and assist with ordering supplies and materials while maintaining prepared, organized patient care areas.

Education and Experience

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene
• Experience as a Dental Hygienist preferred

Licenses, Certification, or Registration

• Current and unencumbered Florida Dental Hygienist License
• Current CPR Certification
