Job Details: Job Location: ALLERGY ASTHMA GUNBARREL - Chattanooga, TN, Position Type: Pro-Rated Full-Time, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Nurse Practitioner - Allergy Galen Medical Group offers several medical specialties throughout the Chattanooga region.

We are seeking qualified, like-minded applicants to join our team! This position requires travel to all 4 locations and 1/2 days Saturdays at Gunbarrel PURPOSE: The Nurse Practitioner Provides healthcare services to the patient(s) under direction and supervision of the Physician.

Responsibilities

Examines patient, performs a comprehensive physical examination and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination. Interprets and integrates medical data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures needed.

Administers or orders, and interprets diagnostic tests as needed for appropriate patient care. Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and managing infections.

Prepares appropriate written prescription orders in accordance with DEA guidelines in dispensing or prescribing medication as necessary to treat the patients medical needs. Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in the provision of continuity of care.

Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth, and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living and health maintenance.

Performs surgical and/or diagnostic procedures in a hospital, office and/or ambulatory setting under the supervision of a Physician. Routinely visits in-patients for the purpose of examination and compilation of data for the physician in attendance, if applicable.

Must maintain Mid-Level Provider certification, license and continuing medical education requirements at all times. Performs all duties in compliance with Galen clinical policies and OSHA standards. Maintain professional communication skills between employee, patient, physicians and other facilities.

Make recommendations for any improvements in the operation of the clinical system. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Assist other personnel in the performance of their duties as assigned and as workload permits.

Function as a relief for other personnel in the office as appropriate and to facilitate co-workers absence in the office. Recognize and demonstrate cost-effective measures in the utilization of supplies, equipment, and other resources.

Maintain the strictest confidentiality of all company records, including verbal and written records. Other duties as assigned by Regional Manager and Physicians. KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/EXPECTATIONS: Promote the mission, vision, and values of Galen Medical Group.

Maintain confidentiality of all patient, medical, financial, and legal information. Report to work on time and as scheduled. Wear identification during work hours. Represent the organization in a positive & professional manner.

Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians, or others in a professional manner. Ability to work independently, exercise creativity, be attentive to detail, and maintain a positive attitude. Comply with all organizational policies and standards regarding ethical business practices.

Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities. Attend regular staff meetings and in-services as directed by your manager. Consistently demonstrate the value of the team concept. Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities.

Complete assignments efficiently and in a timely manner. Understands and abides by OSHA, HIPAA & CLIA standards. Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Graduate of nationally accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant organization. Must have previous experience as Mid-Level Provider in the field of certification (i. e. Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner).

Certified as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant by a nationally accredited organization. Have an active license in the State of Tennessee as a Mid-Level Provider (i. e. Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner). Nurse Practitioners must have an active RN and APRN license.

Must have a DEA number issued by the U.S. Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration. Individual must be BLS trained and certified at all times. Must be PC literate.
