Job Description
This contract, on-site position offers a rewarding opportunity to provide high-quality inpatient care within the Medical Practice industry. As a Hospitalist, you will play a vital role in managing patient care from admission through discharge, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for every patient.
In this associate-level role, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients, managing complex medical conditions, and coordinating with specialists as needed. You will work in a dynamic hospital environment where your clinical expertise and dedication to patient-centered care will directly contribute to improving health outcomes and enhancing the patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care as a Hospitalist
- Admit, evaluate, and manage patients with acute and chronic illnesses
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Coordinate care with specialists and multidisciplinary teams
- Perform patient rounds and monitor clinical progress
- Manage transitions of care and discharge planning
- Document patient encounters accurately in electronic health records
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide urgent interventions
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff
- Adhere to hospital protocols and quality standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical meetings
Requirements
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine
- Associate-level clinical experience in hospital medicine
- Active medical license in good standing
- DEA registration and BLS/ACLS certification
- Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems
- Commitment to patient safety and quality care
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends
- Experience in locum tenens or contract-based practice is preferred
Schedule: 7a-7p
Patient Volume: 15-18 per day
Patient Population: Adults aged 18+
No procedures required
Support Staff: APPs and fellow
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
ACLS and BLS required
Paid travel & expenses
