Highlights

Summary: The Physical Therapist shall evaluate patients and prescribe a treatment program, with Physician approval for all patient assigned. The Therapist shall further adjust the program within constraints and confer with the Physician as needed.

This individual will document treatment, progress, and make suggestions toward further treatment. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role. Education / Experience: Masters' or Doctorate of Physical Therapy from an accredited program.

License / Certification: Active PT license required, BLS required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must also be skilled to provide general discipline specific therapy services to meet patient care requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain a professional and customer centric composure in difficult or challenging situations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people of various backgrounds throughout the organization.
  • Ability to provide a positive customer service experience to guest, visitors, and patients.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
  • Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: Position requires sitting for 20% of the workday and mobility 80% of the workday.

There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.

There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.

Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 75 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 100 pounds.

There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.

Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.

Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels.

Much exposure to computer work.

Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.

Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.

Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.

Key Responsibilities

The Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating patients, developing treatment programs, and documenting patient progress. They must also collaborate with physicians and provide supervision and training to other staff members.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program. An active Physical Therapy license and BLS certification are required for this role.
