Key Responsibilities

Assessing clients using ASI or using other standardized assessment tool and for adolescents using the CASI or using other evidence

based validated assessment tool, and diagnosing clients for substance disorders using the DSM

Determining the appropriate level of care based on ASAM PPC

Obtaining previous records that are relevant to the current treatment episode.

Requirements

At least 3000 hours of supervised work experience in a substance use disorder counseling environment.

An understanding of addiction treatments, including pharmacology.

Assessment skills.

Counseling skills.
