This Physical Therapist in our Physical Medicine & Rehab department provides professional physical therapy services through patient evaluation, treatment planning, and education to support recovery and functional improvement. Coordinates care, develops rehabilitation and home exercise programs, and communicates with patients and families to ensure effective treatment outcomes.

Position Summary

Provides professional, educational, and clinical skills in organizing and directing physical therapy services and administering treatment programs.

Position Key Accountabilities

• Coordinates all physical therapy and related orthopedic care to ensure appropriate patient treatment.
• Conducts patient consultation, evaluation, and program planning for all patients.
• Develops home exercise programs to instruct patients in the required exercise for treatment.
• Reassesses patient status on an ongoing basis to ensure that treatment goals, plans, and program are appropriate.
• Communicates effectively with patient/family to ensure knowledge of treatment plan and home exercises.

Develops educational programs to increase patient/family and community awareness of physical therapy treatment.

Assists in continuing education and orientation or new employees to increase awareness of physical therapy treatments.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills

Physical Therapy (PT) by Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners - Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners (ECPTOTE) required

Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school of Physical Therapy and four years of experience required Master's Degree in Physical Therapy and two years of experience required Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy and no experience required

Minimum Experience

4 years required 2 years required Years of experience varies based on education level. required

Physical Requirements

Exerts up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently and/or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.

Security Sensitive

This position is a security-sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code §51.215 and Texas Government Code §411.094.
