Job Description
The Nurse Practitioner is a licensed practitioner who is responsible for managing health problems and coordinating health care for the patient in accordance with State and federal rules and regulations, the nursing standards of care (assessment or health status, diagnosis, development of plan of care and treatment, implementation of treatment plan, and evaluation of patient status).
Shift & Schedule
Full Time, Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Essential Functions/Performance Expectations
- Clinical management is conducted in collaboration with the supervising physician and health care team members.
- Charting, coordinating care of patient, and following up with test results
- NP/PA will be responsible for writing follow-up progress notes with updated plans and recommendations discussed on rounds.
- NP/PA will coordinate the care and communication to referring services with follow-up on test results throughout day as needed.
Education and Experience
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
- Licensed as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the State of Texas.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Previous experience in gastroenterology, internal medicine, or a related specialty preferred.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and other relevant computer systems.
- Eligible for hospital privileges.

Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak, and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with any lift exceeding these maximum limits.

Requirements
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program and hold a valid Texas license. Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required, with preference given to those with experience in internal medicine or gastroenterology.
