Job Description

MedCap Health is a growing multi-specialty physician and advanced practice provider (APP) group dedicated to delivering high-quality, in-house medical care throughout post-acute and long-term care settings.

As our full-time Director of Physician and APP Subspecialty Services, you'll have the opportunity to influence enterprise-wide clinical strategy, expand consultative specialty services, develop high-performing provider teams, and improve patient outcomes across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC.

This is a full-time Director of Physician and APP Subspecialty Services position with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The role supports physician and APP subspecialty services across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC and includes approximately 30 - 50% regional travel to support provider teams, facility partnerships, program launches, and ongoing clinical operations.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY AS OUR DIRECTOR OF PHYSICIAN AND APP SUBSPECIALTY SERVICES

As the Director of Physician and APP Subspecialty Services, you will lead the design, implementation, and expansion of consultative specialty services across multiple states while serving as the connection between clinical leadership, operational execution, and provider success.

You will collaborate with physician specialists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, executive leadership, facility administrators, directors of nursing, and facility care teams to develop clinical protocols, establish best practices, and support the successful delivery of specialty services.

Throughout the day, you will oversee quality metrics, monitor clinical and operational dashboards, mentor and develop APPs, support workforce development initiatives, manage multi-site provider operations, and lead root cause analyses when necessary.

You will also help introduce and integrate specialty providers within partner facilities, strengthen relationships with clinical and administrative stakeholders, and align quality initiatives, regulatory standards, and operational goals while advancing MedCap Health's mission across a growing network of post-acute and long-term care partners.

Here's What We Need from You

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
  • Active Nurse Practitioner license in good standing (multi-state licensure preferred)
  • 5+ years of Nurse Practitioner experience in PALTC, SNF, LTACH, or similar post-acute care settings
  • 2+ years of experience in leadership, education, or program development (5+ years preferred)
  • Proven success building, mentoring, and leading APP teams
  • Strong knowledge of CMS regulations and documentation standards
  • Proficiency with EHR systems, dashboards, and care coordination platforms
  • Ability to balance strategic leadership with operational execution across multiple locations
  • Ability to guide physician and APP specialty services across a multi-state provider network

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) strongly
  • Located in Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, DC

Experience supporting cardiology, pulmonology, nephrology, infectious disease, or other subspecialty service lines
