Job Requirements
- Board: BC in Cardiothoracic Surgery (ABTS or ABS)
- Licenses: Active Idaho License
- Active DEA Certification
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS
- Experience: Completion of ACGME/AOA residency and CT fellowship
- Other Qualifications: Clean background, no malpractice history, ability to obtain privileges
- Must be available to cover significant shifts between 10/12-11/2
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform adult cardiac surgeries including CABG, valve repair/replacement, aortic dissection repair
- Perform general thoracic surgeries including thoracotomy lung resections, pneumonectomy, tube thoracostomy
- Manage VA and VV ECMO placement and management
- Participate in 24-hour on-call coverage for cardiothoracic emergencies
- Collaborate with APPs, perfusionists, and OR staff to ensure high-quality patient care
Key Responsibilities
The surgeon will perform a variety of adult cardiac and general thoracic surgeries, including CABG, valve procedures, and lung resections. They are also responsible for managing ECMO placement and providing 24-hour on-call coverage for cardiothoracic emergencies.
Requirements
Candidates must be Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery with an active Idaho medical license and DEA certification. Completion of an ACGME/AOA residency and CT fellowship is required, along with proficiency in advanced surgical procedures.
