Job Description
Male Child & Family Therapist - CSW/LCSW
Family Haven is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to building a community of happy, healthy individuals and families through the prevention and treatment of child abuse and trauma. With locations in Orem and Lehi, we provide a range of family support programs alongside a busy outpatient mental health practice.
We are looking for a Male Child & Family Therapist to join our clinical team in our Orem office. Our work focuses primarily on children and families who have experienced child abuse and trauma, as well as individuals, couples, and families dealing with stress.
The Work
Our therapists provide individual, family, couples, and group therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. Because much of our work involves children and families affected by trauma, we use a variety of evidence-based and developmentally appropriate approaches, including:
- Play Therapy
- Sandtray Therapy
- Art Therapy
- IFS
- EMDR
TF-CBT
You'll have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients while developing specialized skills in trauma treatment and child-centered therapy.
Our clinical team includes experienced clinicians, including LCSWs, RPT-S therapists, and EMDR-trained therapists, who work together to support excellent client care.
Support for Your Professional Growth
Family Haven provides a structured path for CSWs working toward their Utah LCSW. Our in-house RPT-S clinical supervisors provide clinical supervision and support as you develop your skills and complete the experience required for independent licensure.
For a full-time CSW, the required clinical experience can typically be completed in approximately 1.5 years. For a Half-Time CSW, it can typically be completed in approximately 2.5 years, assuming all licensure requirements are met.
We also support ongoing professional development, with opportunities for internal training as well as external training and certification in areas such as Play Therapy, EMDR, TF-CBT, and other trauma-focused approaches.
A Place Designed for Children and Families
Our offices are comfortable, welcoming, and designed to support therapeutic work with children and families. Clinical resources include four playrooms, game closet, art room, group rooms, and a sandtray room. We also provide integration and collaboration with our other family-support programs.
Scheduling and billing are handled by our client care team, allowing therapists to focus their time and energy on their clients and clinical work.
