Job description
Responsible for evaluating assigned patients and developing and implementing
appropriate treatment plans working with people of all ages who need specialized
assistance to lead independent, productive lives. The Occupational Therapist
will be expected to work closely with our Orthopaedic surgeons and non-operative
providers in organizing their client schedules with successful outcomes and
patient satisfaction; and other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Provides comprehensive goal-directed patient treatment to maximize patient
outcomes.
* Evaluates assigned patients and establishes appropriate treatment goals,
objectives, and programs.
* Provides education to the patient, family and supportive personnel for
in-hospital care and to assure safe discharge.
* Completes medical record documentation in clear, concise, accurate and timely
manner in compliance with department, state, federal, and intermediary
guidelines.
* Completes hospital billing in compliance with department, state, federal, and
intermediary guidelines.
* Coordinates patient care with colleagues within the department and in other
departments.
* Float between locations
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
* Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from an accredited ACOTE program
and completion of clinical rotations required
* Must hold a MD license (or eligibility) in Occupational Therapy
* Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) is preferred but not required
* Occupational Therapist pursuing CHT specialization is required if applicant
is not a CHT

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University
of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some
candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact
salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the
successful candidate’s geographical location, skills, work experience, market
conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control,
