School Based Occupational Therapist (In Person)

Therapeutic Focus is a family-oriented outpatient pediatric therapy clinic seeking a highly motivated, passionate, coachable, tech savvy and creative Occupational Therapist to join our growing team. Our mission is to alleviate cognitive and developmental deficiencies in children by providing safe, ethical and individualized treatment services that will prepare them to thrive within society. We provide outpatient and school-based therapy to children throughout Arkansas, Tennessee, and Louisiana.

We are currently looking for a Part-Time (2 days/week), in-person Occupational Therapist to join our team and provide services within the on-site school program at a residential treatment facility in Memphis, TN, supporting students with behavioral and emotional needs. This role offers meaningful, focused clinical work with a student population that benefits greatly from skilled OT support.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school
• Computer literate and proficient in clinical documentation
• Basic Internet navigation skills
• Valid state and national license (where applicable)-Occupational Therapy (Tennessee)

Experience or comfort working with students in behavioral, emotional, or therapeutic classroom settings preferred

• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
• Ability to understand and prepare moderately complex written materials, such as patient records.
• Ability to communicate verbally with Associates, physicians and other outside professionals.
• Ability to work without close supervision and to exercise independent judgment.
• Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects and maintain control of work flow.

Ability to remain calm, flexible, and therapeutic when working with students who present with behavioral or emotional challenges.

• Key Job Responsibilities
• Performs initial patient assessment.
• Implements patient treatments based on assessment and written plan.
• Attend IEP Meetings
• Provides ongoing patient assessment through observation of patient and review of records.
• Identifies patient specific therapy rehabilitation learning needs and provides appropriate education.

Collaborates with classroom teachers, behavioral staff, and related service providers as part of each student's integrated support plan.

Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities for self-development and enhancement of professional competency.
