Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates competency in the operation of all radiographic equipment.
  • Prepares the patient and work environment for the successful completion of radiographic examination.
  • Produces diagnostic radiographs according to department standards and protocols.
  • Practices all types of isolation, infection control procedures and universal precautions.

Performs basic patient care protocols according to department guidelines under the direction of the OR Charge Nurse and/or OR Manager.

  • Demonstrates effective communication skills.
  • Assists with emergency code situation in accordance with Center policies.
  • Demonstrates proper radiation safety procedures.
  • Complies with safety and emergency procedures consistent with Center policy.
  • Complies with all Center policies.
  • Participates in unit cost containment measures.
  • Personal Conduct

Education

  • Demonstrates appropriate decision making ability.
  • Exhibits behavior consistent with the Center’s philosophy “The Patient Comes First”.
  • Presents a positive role model as radiological technologist in the performance of duties.
  • May require local travel to other campuses.
  • Performs other duties as deemed necessary.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Requirements

  • REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Satisfactory completion of AMA accredited program
  • Licensure/Certification: Certified by AART
  • Certified by State of Florida Radiation Control
