Key Responsibilities
The Substance Use Counselor conducts client assessments, develops individualized treatment plans, and provides both individual and group counseling sessions. They are also responsible for maintaining accurate treatment records and coordinating continuing care services within a correctional environment.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a helping profession and be able to obtain Georgia Department of Corrections clearance. Previous counseling experience is preferred, and the role requires obtaining state-recognized certification within 30 months.
