How you’ll contribute

A Drug and Alcohol Counselor who excels in this role:

• Provides direct assessment and counseling services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric clients.

• Provides individual, marital, family and group psychotherapy as assigned.

• Maintains accurate and complete records, including adequate paperwork to facilitate proper billing. Knowledgeable of CPT Codes and their appropriate and effective application.

• Maintains confidentiality of all patient, hospital, and employee related information.

• Delivers personalized, efficient care with respect for the individual’s spiritual and cultural differences.

• Participates in community consultation and education as requested.

• Participates in facility treatment team meetings communicating clinical impressions.

• Compiles comprehensive patient/family history and records the data.

• Works to ensure effective performance and productivity maintaining a flexible schedule to accommodate patients.

What We’re Looking For

The Mental Health Counselor must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. The requirements listed below are below representative

of the knowledge, skills and abilities required:

• Bilingual and/or English Spanish speaking preferred and ability to work with culturally diverse population.
• High School Diploma or equivalent – required
• AA in Social Services or equivalent (90 quarter/60 semester college credits) or bachelor’s degree in behavioral health sciences.
• Must be enrolled in an approved school and gaining the experience required to receive a Substance Use Disorder Professional credential

Hourly range: $17.26- $22.44
