Job Description

The Division of Gynecologic Oncology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stanford University seeks outstanding applicants for a full-time faculty position in the University Medical Line (UML).

Based on the applicant’s credentials, this appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor.

The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the UML are excellence in the overall mix of scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, clinical care, clinical teaching, and institutional service—appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

Candidate qualifications include an MD or MD/PhD degree and board certification or eligibility in Gynecologic Oncology. They must have demonstrated strength in clinical research in the field of gynecologic oncology and the promise of attaining independent funding.

A well-established history of investigation, distinguished publication record and track-record as a collaborator or the trajectory of the former for more junior applicants is expected.

Preference will be given to outstanding candidates who can complement and/or enhance existing strengths within the Department and the larger University community.

The successful candidate will collaborate with our multidisciplinary team including faculty in the Stanford Women’s Cancer Center, the Stanford Cancer Institute, and related oncology services including the Stanford Hereditary Cancer Genetics Program. Current areas of focus in the Division include clinical trials in gynecologic oncology, cancer genetics and hereditary gynecologic cancer syndromes, the care of high-risk populations, and translational research.

In addition to research, the candidate will perform all clinical duties in the Division, including patient care and surgical procedures. The successful applicant will participate in teaching and research mentorship for medical students, residents, and Gynecologic Oncology fellows in the ACGME-accredited fellowship program.

Salary Range

  • The expected base pay range for this position is:
  • Assistant Professor $377,000 – $401,000
