Job Description

General Overview

Provides prophylaxis treatments and education to patients.

Essential Responsibilities

• Calls the patient to confirm scheduled appointment. (5%)
• Evaluates patient, takes blood pressure, and reviews medical history prior to dental prophylaxis. (10%)
• Performs prophylaxis treatments, scaling and root planning, and periodontal probing. (65%)

Documents overall oral hygiene in the patient chart for review by the dentist and ensures proper billing procedures. (10%)

Explains procedure to patients/families and provides teaching instructions and or materials for home care. (10%)

Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

• Minimum
• Current Pennsylvania Dental Hygiene License.
• Preferred
• 1 year of dental hygienist experience preferred.

• CPR – American Heart Association
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
