Job Description

Job Details: Job Location: ABA Services - Birmingham, AL, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: Undisclosed, The Speech Language Pathologist will provide both school and clinic-based services. The Therapist will work predominantly with children and adolescents with ASD and other language disorders.

This position reports to the Director, ABA Services.

Essential Functions: Assess and identify specific speech, language, and/or communication needs for development of the IEP and treatment plan, to establish a baseline of students’ present skills for judging future progress, and to help plan and conduct treatment sessions.

Work with a multidisciplinary treatment team to consult and share information with teaching staff, parents, and residential staff (as appropriate) regarding assessment and treatment. Collaborate with the IEP team and the Treatment team regarding the development of the overall language and communication program.

Work collaboratively with agency professionals to ensure that individuals served on the assigned caseload are provided the highest quality occupational therapy services available Complies with Code of Ethics and demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all clients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.

Fulfills professional development requirements and other assignments.

Education and Experience: Master’s degree and certification in Speech Language Pathology 2+ years (s) of experience in autism, developmental disabilities, and/or mental health-related behaviors Knowledge of Autism, Emotional Disturbance, and other Developmental Disabilities Glenwood is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree and certification in Speech Language Pathology. A minimum of two years of experience working with autism, developmental disabilities, or mental health-related behaviors is required.
