The Medical Director of Anesthesia is responsible for serving as the primary liaison between NorthStar, hospital administration and anesthesia staff. This person is responsible for assuring the ongoing development and implementation of policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of medical staff services at his/her facility.

The Medical Director will be responsible for the medical leadership, clinical oversight and patient care for the anesthesia department.

About The Facility

DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital—home to Michigan’s first Level I Trauma Center—is a constant and innovative leader in the evolution of emergency medicine and trauma care. Receiving hosts one of the busiest and most well-equipped emergency departments in the region, training many of the practicing emergency medicine physicians in Michigan. Detroit Receiving has one of Michigan’s largest adult burn care centers, one of only three dedicated centers in the state, and the only American Burn Association Verified Adult Burn Center in Detroit. Detroit Receiving is proud to be certified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, the highest level of competence for the treatment of serious stroke events. Inpatient and outpatient specialty services including burn care, wound care, intensive care, neurosciences, behavioral health, orthopedics, pulmonology, diabetes, geriatrics, and urology.
