Job Description
This is a contract, on-site position offering an excellent opportunity for an Associate-level provider to deliver high-quality patient care within a specialized clinical environment.
In this role, you will work closely with cardiologists, vascular surgeons, and a collaborative multidisciplinary team to support patient evaluation, treatment, and ongoing management across cardiovascular and vascular conditions. You will play a key role in enhancing patient outcomes, supporting clinical workflows, and contributing to the delivery of exceptional care in a fast-paced medical practice.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking and physical examinations in cardiology and vascular surgery settings
- Assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of cardiovascular and vascular conditions
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including labs, imaging, and cardiac studies
- Collaborate with cardiologists, vascular surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams to develop patient care plans
- Perform or assist with routine clinical procedures within scope of practice
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as directed by supervising physicians
- Document patient encounters accurately and timely in electronic medical records
- Educate patients and families on cardiovascular and vascular health, treatment options, and preventive care
- Coordinate referrals and follow-up care with specialists and primary care providers
- Participate in clinical rounds, case discussions, and quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with medical practice protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Support continuity of care throughout the locum assignment
Requirements
- Associate-level experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Current NP or PA licensure in good standing
- Board certification or eligibility as an NP or PA
- Experience or clinical exposure in cardiology and/or vascular surgery
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and patient management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical practice environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient and team interactions
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and clinical documentation
- Strong collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary clinical team
- Commitment to patient-centered care and clinical excellence
- Ability to work on-site in Jacksonville as part of a contract assignment
- Adaptability and professionalism in a locum role
Schedule: 24-hour call, specific dates
Daily Volume: 30 patients
Procedures Required: First assist on CABG, valve, aortic, and thoracic cases, including EVH/saphenous vein harvesting
Radial artery harvesting and endoscopic vein harvesting preferred
Full subspecialty support
EMR: Meditech, Patient Keeper, and eCW
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
ACLS, BLS, and DEA required
