Job Description: Surgical Oncologist: Director of Robotic Pancreas Surgery Department of Surgery Havard Medical Faculty Physicians (HMFP) at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) Harvard Medical School (HMS) The Division of Surgical Oncology in the Department of Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) and Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians (HMFP), in partnership with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI), seek an experienced surgical oncologist to lead our program in robotic pancreas surgery.

The successful applicant must demonstrate high-volume, independent experience in robotic pancreatoduodenectomy and the full spectrum of complex pancreatobiliary operations. A strong commitment to multidisciplinary collaboration is critical.

The role offers access to the substantial clinical and research resources of BIDMC and the ability to partner with DFCI’s extensive gastrointestinal cancer research and clinical trials programs and provides the opportunity for programmatic and administrative leadership. Experienced candidates are preferred; exceptionally promising new fellowship graduates may be considered.

Responsibilities include programmatic leadership, direct patient care, teaching of surgery residents and medical students, and clinical or outcomes research as appropriate.

Appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with experience, training and achievements in addition to teaching activities.

This recruitment is a key part of this collaboration which is expected to drive substantial increases in oncology referral volume across all disease sites, including pancreatobiliary malignancies.

Pay Range

$328,800 - $670,900 The base pay range reflects what Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (HMFP) reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role at the time of posting and may be modified from time to time.

Actual compensation within this range may be determined based on several factors, including academic appointment, work experience, specialty training, geography of work location, anticipated productivity, FTE basis, and role expectations.

In addition to base compensation, this role may be eligible for performance-based incentives, which may include bonuses for productivity and quality HMFP also offers a comprehensive and generous employee benefits program to eligible employees, including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, as well as retirement plan(s) with employer contributions.
