Job Description
An established audiologist-owned private practice in Northern Michigan is seeking an Audiologist to support its continued growth. The Audiologist will work across the practice’s Cheboygan and Harbor Springs locations.
The practice provides comprehensive hearing healthcare for adult and pediatric patients, including diagnostic evaluations, hearing aids, cochlear implants, cerumen management, and VA services.
This opportunity is well suited for an Audiologist who enjoys a broad scope of private practice audiology. There is also an opportunity for someone with an interest in tinnitus management or auditory processing disorders (APD) to help expand these services within the practice.
Scope of Practice & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive hearing evaluations, including pure-tone and bone-conduction audiometry, word recognition testing, QuickSIN, and immittance testing
- Conduct cochlear implant candidacy evaluations, activations, and mapping
- Perform hearing aid evaluations and recommend amplification solutions tailored to individual patient needs
- Select, fit, program, and verify hearing aids using Real Ear Measurements (REM)
- Conduct comprehensive tinnitus assessments and provide appropriate treatment recommendations
- Perform cerumen management
- Provide VA C&P examinations and hearing healthcare to VA Community Care patients
Educate patients and families regarding hearing loss, amplification, tinnitus, communication strategies, and hearing conservation
Identify patients who require medical intervention and coordinate referrals with physicians, ENTs, and other healthcare providers
Requirements
- Doctor of Audiology (Au. D.) degree
- Michigan Audiologist license or eligibility for licensure
- Strong diagnostic and hearing aid skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and patient counseling skills
- Recent graduates comfortable practicing independently are encouraged to apply
