Job Description
Bassett Healthcare Network, in Central New York, is seeking a Part Time (3 days/week) BC/BE Hematologist-Medical Oncologist to join our staff.
- Salary Range: $330,000-$378,000
- Sign-on Bonus: up to $60,000
- Location: Bassett Health Network Cancer Treatment Centers locations include:
- Bassett Medical Center, 1 Atwell Road, Cooperstown, NY
- Bassett Cancer Institute at FoxCare, 1 FoxCare Drive, Oneonta, NY
Job Description & Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will work as an important member of a multidisciplinary team to provide patient oriented care in an environment that fosters teamwork, collaboration, independence and puts patient safety first. The Radiation Oncology Department is accredited by ASTRO APEx through 2028.
Full Spectrum of Radiation Oncology Services Include
- IMRT, IGRT, 3D conformal therapy, SRS, SBRT, SGRT, low dose and high dose rate brachytherapy, respiratory gating, and radiopharmaceuticals
Equipment at Cooperstown Campus
- Varian TrueBeam, Phillips Big Bore 16-slice CT simulator, Bravos multichannel HDR afterloader, Eclipse planning system and ARIA electronic record and dosimetry services
Equipment in Oneonta
- Varian 23ix and dosimetry services with a plan for upgrades
- Clinical trials onsite from major groups (ex. NRG, SWOG, etc.) and also industry sponsored trials
- 3 day work week – coverage includes both Cancer Treatment Centers in Cooperstown and Oneonta
- Practice at a cancer center accredited by the American College of Surgeons as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Center since 1947
- Collaborate with medical oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists and other specialists through multidisciplinary tumor boards
- Utilize a fully integrated Epic electronic medical record across the entire health system
- Become part of a physician-led, closed medical staff of more than 500 physicians and advanced practice clinicians committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care

Job Qualifications
BC/BE in Radiation Oncology
Completion of an accredited USA Radiation Oncology Residency successful completion of which results in board eligibility
New York State Licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
BLS Certification Required
DEA Required

Salary Range: $330,000-$378,0000 based on a 3-day work week.
This compensation range represents Bassett Healthcare’s good faith belief of the compensation range at the time of this posting or advertisement. Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards

Key Responsibilities
The Division Chief will provide patient-oriented radiation oncology services as part of a multidisciplinary team across two cancer treatment centers. Responsibilities include utilizing advanced radiation technologies, participating in tumor boards, and overseeing clinical trials.
Requirements
Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Radiation Oncology and have completed an accredited USA residency program. A valid New York State medical license, BLS certification, and DEA registration are required.
