Job Description
PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Join our team as a PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) and help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life. Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, you will provide skilled, patient-centered treatment designed to improve strength, mobility, coordination, and the ability to safely perform activities of daily living.
Responsibilities
* Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
* Provide therapeutic activities and exercises to improve patients’ strength, coordination, mobility, and functional independence.
* Assist patients with developing or restoring skills needed for daily living and self-care.
* Monitor patient progress and communicate changes or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
* Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic activities, adaptive techniques, and equipment use.
* Follow infection-control practices and standard precautions during all patient-care activities.
* Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation.
* Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the interdisciplinary care team.
* Support the agency’s mission, policies, and standards of care.
Qualifications
* Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the state of practice
* Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
* Current CPR certification
* Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance
* Home health or skilled nursing facility experience preferred
* Homecare Homebase experience preferred
* Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
Physical Requirements
* Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, crawl, squat, and kneel as required when providing patient care.
* Ability to lift, carry, pull, or push up to 100 pounds, with assistance or appropriate equipment when necessary.
