Integrated Health Centers of West Virginia is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving communities across Doddridge, Pleasants, Ritchie, and Wood counties through eight sites. We provide primary care, behavioral health, telehealth, and school-based health services to everyone who walks through our doors, regardless of ability to pay. The Opportunity
We are seeking a Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our behavioral health team and provide psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and clinical leadership for our Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) program. This is a chance to make a direct impact on substance use disorder treatment in rural West Virginia while working in a collaborative, mission-driven setting.
Key Responsibilities
Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and ongoing medication management for adult and adolescent patients across in-person and telehealth visits
Serve as clinical lead for the MAT program, including oversight of treatment protocols, patient eligibility, induction, stabilization, and maintenance
Prescribe and manage medications for opioid use disorder (such as buprenorphine and naltrexone) and co-occurring substance use and mental health conditions
Ensure MAT services comply with federal and state regulations, HRSA requirements, and clinical best practices, including appropriate controlled substance monitoring and PDMP review
Provide clinical consultation, guidance, and support to MAT prescribers, primary care providers, therapists, and care coordinators
Collaborate with the integrated care team to coordinate treatment, referrals, and warm hand-offs between behavioral health and primary care
- Contribute to quality improvement, program development, and outcome tracking for the MAT program
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and peer review activities
Qualifications
- Psychiatrist
- MD or DO from an accredited program; completion of an accredited psychiatry residency
- Board certified or board eligible in psychiatry
- Current, unrestricted West Virginia medical license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Master's or doctoral degree as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from an accredited program
National certification as a PMHNP (ANCC)
Current, unrestricted West Virginia APRN license with prescriptive authority (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Both roles
- Active DEA registration with authority to prescribe controlled substances for MAT
- Experience treating substance use disorders, preferred; experience with MAT programs strongly preferred
- Comfort with telehealth and integrated care models
- Ability to pass credentialing and background checks
- Commitment to serving a rural, underserved population
