The Substance Use Counselor is responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing both individual and group counseling. They must also document client progress, maintain accurate clinical records, and perform ongoing case management.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, while a bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, or social work is preferred. Candidates should ideally have 6 months of experience in a corrections environment and must be able to obtain Missouri Department of Corrections clearance.
