Job Description

Hospice Physician / Medical Director Designee – Per Diem

We are seeking a licensed physician (MD/DO) to serve as a Hospice Medical Director Designee and provide physician coverage as needed.

Responsibilities May Include

Provide coverage for the Hospice Medical Director when unavailable

Review and certify hospice eligibility in accordance with Medicare hospice requirements

Participate in IDG/IDT meetings as needed

Review and sign certifications/recertifications and other required physician documentation

Collaborate with the hospice clinical team regarding patient eligibility, plan of care, and symptom management

Provide physician orders and clinical guidance as appropriate

Assist with face-to-face encounters when applicable and within the scope of the arrangement

Maintain timely and compliant documentation

Qualifications

Current, unrestricted California MD or DO license

Medicare-enrolled and in good standing

Experience with hospice, palliative care, geriatrics, or end-of-life care strongly preferred

Familiarity with Medicare hospice Conditions of Participation and eligibility requirements preferred

Reliable and responsive for clinical/documentation needs

Comfortable working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary hospice team

  • Location: LA & Orange County
  • Compensation: $1,000–$1,500 per month
