Physical Therapist - Field Ergonomics & Mobility

Role and Scope of Position

Eversource Energy is seeking an experienced and dynamic Physical Therapist – Field Ergonomics & Mobility to deliver on-site and field-based physical therapy services focused on injury prevention, early discomfort screening, ergonomic risk reduction, and safe-work education within an industrial and occupational environment.

This role applies professional knowledge of biomechanics, ergonomics, mobility, and injury-prevention principles to support safe work practices.

This position is focused on ergonomics, mobility, injury prevention, education, and non-diagnostic screening activities. The Field Ergonomics & Mobility Consultant does not provide medical diagnosis or treatment, does not direct employee medical care, does not determine fitness for duty, and does not make determinations as to whether injuries are work-related in nature.

Essential Functions

Injury Prevention & Early Intervention

Provide ergonomic coaching and non-diagnostic screening for employees reporting discomfort associated with work tasks or physical demands.

Support injury-prevention efforts through ergonomic coaching and timely referral of employees when clinical evaluation may be appropriate.

Provide ergonomic observations and task-design recommendations for consideration by Safety, Operations, and applicable management personnel.

Maintain confidentiality of employee information and comply with Company policies concerning privacy, OSHA recordkeeping, workers' compensation, ADA, and related legal requirements.

Coordinate with appropriate Safety representatives when circumstances require medical evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, work restrictions, or fitness-for-duty determinations.

• Ergonomics & Field Assessments
• Conduct ergonomic field assessments in industrial, field, and office environments
• Identify physical risk factors related to posture, repetition, force, vibration, and material handling

Provide clear, practical ergonomic recommendations including workstation adjustments, task redesign, and tool or equipment considerations

Document ergonomic observations and communicate safety-focused recommendations in accordance with Company privacy, records-management, and confidentiality requirements.

Mobility & Education

• Lead group-based mobility, stretching, and movement preparation sessions tailored to job-specific physical demands
• Design and implement targeted programs aimed at reducing common occupational injuries
• Develop and deliver educational presentations and training on ergonomics, injury prevention, and musculoskeletal health

Program Support & Collaboration

• Collaborate with safety and management teams to identify trends, address injury risks, and support continuous program improvement
• Track participation, outcomes, and trends to inform program effectiveness

Maintain accurate documentation of ergonomic activities, observations, coaching activities, and safety recommendations consistent with Company privacy and records-management requirements.

Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications

• Technical Knowledge/Skill:
• Valid Driver’s License
• Strong communication, presentation, and coaching skills
• Ability to work independently in field-based and on-site environments

Preferred

• Experience in industrial, occupational, or field-based settings
• Familiarity with ergonomics or workplace injury prevention programs

Education/Licenses & Certifications

• Graduate from a CAPTE accredited physical therapy program
• Hold an active, unrestricted New Hampshire Physical Therapy License

Experience

Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience

Working Conditions

• Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
• Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
• Must be available to travel throughout the state of NH to all the Area Work Centers and substations.

$108,000.00-$120,000.00
