School Therapist (LSW) or (LPC)
General Summary/Responsibilities
The School Therapist functions as a member of a treatment team and school team, which may consist of staff with a variety of mental health, education, or medical backgrounds. Therapist assists the treatment team to plan and deliver clinical services, case coordination, intervention, consultation and/or education services to children, adolescents, adults, and families while working in a school setting.

Area of study or major: Counseling, Social Work, Rehabilitation.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Licensed in the state of Ohio as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
Experience
Minimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience
Preferred experience: Training and experience in providing individual psychotherapy, community support psychiatric services, and group psychotherapy
Other experience requirements: Experience in using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders DSM 5 TR
Knowledge/Skills
Knowledge of human behavior, learning, and motivation.
Assess, Diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate mental and emotional disorders under supervisory guidance
Key Responsibilities
The School Therapist works as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide clinical services, case coordination, and intervention to students and families. They are responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental and emotional disorders within the school environment.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant social science field such as Counseling or Social Work. Applicants are required to be licensed in Ohio as an LPC or LSW.
