Job Description
Nemours Children’s Health is seeking a compassionate, collaborative Per Diem Pediatric Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to join our primary care team on the Thomas Jefferson University Health campus in Philadelphia. This is an opportunity to build lasting relationships with children and families while delivering high-quality, evidence-based care within a nationally recognized pediatric health system.
Our Thomas Jefferson University primary care office is a large teaching practice serving a diverse patient population, including a high percentage of patients covered by Medicaid.
The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will care for children from birth through adolescence, support the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital newborn nursery, and help educate the next generation of clinicians.
The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced, multidisciplinary team and have access to the broad specialty resources of Nemours Children’s Health.
What You’LL Do
- Provide comprehensive pediatric primary care, including well-child visits, preventive screenings, immunizations, and management of acute and chronic conditions, within the scope of practice.
- Partner with patients and families to promote healthy development and lifelong wellness.
- Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and the broader care team.
- Coordinate care with pediatric specialists, hospital-based teams, and community resources.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and support staff to deliver a seamless patient experience.
- Provide clinical coverage for the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital newborn nursery and participate in the practice’s teaching environment.
- Contribute to quality improvement, patient safety, and population health initiatives.
What We’RE Looking For
- Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Current national certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Eligibility for an unrestricted Pennsylvania advanced practice nursing or physician assistant license, as applicable.
- Pediatric primary care experience preferred; new graduates with strong pediatric clinical training may be considered.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills.
