Responsibilities

Working as part of an interdisciplinary team of therapists, case managers, medical professionals, and direct care staff, the Physical Therapist supports the goals, independence, and overall well-being of adults with developmental and other disabilities participating in Minute Man Arc's Day Habilitation Program.

Key responsibilities include

Review medical histories, conduct comprehensive physical therapy assessments, and identify individual therapeutic needs.

Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans based on assessed needs, goals, and physician orders.

Provide physical therapy interventions and ongoing support to promote mobility, functional abilities, safety, and independence.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, evaluations, treatment interventions, progress, and changes in individuals' conditions in accordance with physician orders and applicable requirements.

Collaborate with members of the interdisciplinary team to support coordinated and person-centered care.

Provide consultation, education, and guidance to direct care staff regarding physical therapy recommendations, positioning, mobility, transfers, and other individualized support needs.

Assist with the coordination, fitting, maintenance, repair, and replacement of wheelchairs, adaptive equipment, and other physical therapy devices.

Monitor the effectiveness and appropriate use of adaptive equipment and recommend modifications or replacements as needed.

Qualifications

Current licensure as a Physical Therapist through the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Allied Health Professions.

Current licensure and/or registration required for the field of practice.

Minimum of one year of experience working with or providing services to individuals with developmental and/or other disabilities preferred.

Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team and communicate professionally with individuals, families, staff, and other service providers.

Strong assessment, documentation, clinical judgment, and organizational skills.

Pay

$62-65 Hourly
