Job Description

The Ambulatory Infusion Pharmacist will report to the Pharmacy System Director for ambulatory infusion, and will provide distributive and clinical pharmacy services primarily to outpatients of the Medical University clinics.

This position will address the needs of physician, APP, and nursing personnel regarding drug disposition and usage, primarily in the oncology infusion setting, but can include non-oncology infusion medications; counsel patients and health care professionals, as needed, by providing general and specific drug information; ensures timely and medically appropriate dispensing of medication to patients for assigned areas; be trained to check, and also prepare, hazardous and non-hazardous sterile products in accordance to USP 797 and USP 800 standards.

The ideal candidate will be a motivated team-player with excellent time management and communication skills.

This position will be based on site at MUSC Kershaw Hospital, servicing HCC Karesh House Oncology clinics and infusion patient needs, including management of patient assistance medication needs and clinical trial support, as needed, and delivery of medication doses to the infusion suite.

This position will also support remote verification of infusion orders from other outpatient oncology infusion operations.

Valid South Carolina Pharmacist license in place upon hire, or within 90-days of hire

Additional Job Description

Minimum Training and Education: Doctor of Pharmacy or a Bachelor's degree in pharmacy. Completion of a pharmacy residency preferred. Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
