Job Description
CKHC Pediatric Palliative program offers expressive therapies to children living with life limiting conditions in the comfort of their home. Our music therapists play an important role in our patient’s quality of life, playing music, singing songs and teaching musical instruments.
Music allows for diversion, brings solace and allows for relaxation children need who are medically fragile. To offer the best patient-centered care our music therapists work on our palliative care team of social workers, other expressive therapists, and nurses.
As a music therapist with CKHC you would provide services to children aged 0-21. Our contracted music therapists have complete autonomy regarding their schedule, as they drive to and from patients’ homes. Our music therapist will also have a unique opportunity to work with children and families during the end-of-life.
Children on our palliative care program can receive up to 4 sessions (of any type of expressive therapist) per month.

The music therapist provides expressive therapy services to children aged 0-21 in their homes to improve quality of life. They collaborate with a palliative care team including social workers, nurses, and other therapists to deliver patient-centered care.
Requirements
The candidate must be a qualified music therapist capable of providing therapeutic musical interventions. They must be comfortable working with medically fragile children and families during end-of-life care.
