Key Responsibilities

• Teaching | Train current and future healthcare practitioners on scholarly approaches.  Mentor faculty, trainees, and students on scholarly work.  Oversee the Departmental Summer Scholars Program.

• Research | Oversee the research efforts of the Division of Hospital Medicine.

• Service | Lead the Division of Hospital Medicine Data Committee and other research-related committees.  Participate in other divisional and departmental service activities.

• Clinical | Variable depending on whether the hired candidate is a clinician.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in relevant field for health services research such as nursing, psychology, public health, health policy, or research discipline or an MD or DO degree with documented accomplishments in research.

• Experience developing an independent program of research.

• Track record of attaining funding to support research activities.

• Ability to collaborate across traditional institutional boundaries to develop successful initiatives.
