About the Role

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in assessing, treating, and caring for patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes by providing respiratory care in various settings, including emergency rooms and hospital wards. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. This role demands the ability to work independently while maintaining clear and effective communication with patients and the healthcare team. Ultimately, your work will ensure the delivery of superior quality respiratory therapy services that enhance patient comfort and recovery.

Full-time, Nights

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure or certification as a Respiratory Therapist (e. g., CRT or RRT credential).
• Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.
• Strong manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform respiratory procedures and patient handling.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a hospital setting, particularly in emergency or critical care units.
• Advanced certifications such as Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist (NPS) or Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS).
• Familiarity with advanced respiratory equipment and ventilator management.
• Additional training in patient education and counseling techniques.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients’ respiratory status and develop appropriate treatment plans based on clinical assessments and physician orders.
• Administer respiratory therapies such as oxygen delivery, aerosol medications, and mechanical ventilation support.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as necessary to optimize respiratory function and comfort.
• Respond promptly and effectively to respiratory emergencies in the hospital setting, including the emergency room.
• Maintain accurate patient records and document all respiratory care interventions using basic computer systems.
• Educate patients and their families on respiratory care techniques and equipment use to support ongoing treatment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards to protect patients and staff.
