Duties & Responsibilities
Provide care for patients on a 17-bed pediatric floor and in the newborn nursery (supporting ~2400 annual deliveries)
- Round on patients during 24-hour shifts, including call from home/hotel
- Collaborate with daytime Advanced Practice Providers and a network of pediatric sub-specialists (UVA, INOVA, Children's National)
- Engage in teaching and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Participate in block scheduling for per diem coverage
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive inpatient care for pediatric patients and newborns, including rounding and admissions during 24-hour shifts. Collaborate with daytime Advanced Practice Providers and pediatric sub-specialists to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
Requirements
Candidates must be board-certified in Pediatrics with an active Virginia medical license. A minimum of 1 year of clinical activity and 6 months of experience in a pediatric hospitalist role are required.
