Job Requirements

  • Board: Certified required
  • Licenses: Licensed in IA or Universal License (IMLC)
  • DEA: Active DEA required
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, ABLS
  • Fellowship: Preferred
  • Other Qualifications: Active Iowa Medicaid preferred (as confirmed in bid); EMR proficiency (MediTech, Athena)

Duties & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive obstetric care including deliveries, c-sections, and management of high-risk pregnancies.

Perform gynecologic procedures in office and surgical settings (e. g., IUD placement, colposcopy, laparoscopy).

Cover clinic hours Monday through Friday, seeing 15‑20 patients per day with support from NPs and nursing staff.

Participate in rotating call schedule (10‑14 day stretches) managing labor and delivery, emergency consults, and surgical back-up.

Collaborate with transferring facilities for NICU-level patients requiring Life Flight to Iowa City or Des Moines.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care, including deliveries, surgeries, and high-risk pregnancy management. Participate in a rotating call schedule to manage labor, delivery, and emergency surgical consults.

Requirements

Must be a Board Certified Physician with an active Iowa medical license or Universal License. Requires proficiency in EMR systems and current certifications including BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, and ABLS.
