  • Maintain and update the school’s crisis response protocols in collaboration with the Dean of Student Success and Wellness
  • Coordinate re-entry plans for students returning after an extended absence following a mental health incident or treatment
  • Provide post-crisis support and follow-up for affected students and staff

Student & Family Support

  • Advocate for students, maintaining a confidential and welcoming counseling environment
  • Partner with families to support student well-being, offering consultation, parent education workshops, and referral resources
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify students of concern and coordinate appropriate interventions
  • Attend student success team meetings and coordinate with SPED related to student IEP/504 and learning plan

Community & Professional Responsibilities

  • Maintain a structured calendar for student meetings and counseling appointments, shared regularly with the supervisor to support coordinated care and visibility across the student success team
  • Maintain accurate records and case notes in SNAP Health, ensuring data confidentiality in compliance with FERPA and school policy
  • Participate actively in faculty and staff meetings, professional development, and school community events
  • Coordinate and administer annual Student and Staff Support Survey, analyzing results to inform wellness programming and school leadership
  • Model Christ-like character, compassion, and integrity in all professional relationships

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field
  • LICSW or LMHC preferred
  • Professional Competencies
  • Demonstrated passion for LCA’s Christ-centered mission and commitment to faith-integrated practice
  • Goal-oriented and results-oriented with the ability to track and communicate student wellness outcomes
  • Strong leadership with the ability to take initiative and drive programming independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative team player who works effectively across faculty, administration, and families
  • High integrity and serves as a positive role model

Environment

LCA is a grade 6-12, independent college preparatory school that exists to educate young men and women in the arts and sciences in the context of a complete commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ by developing intellectual ability, nurturing spiritual and moral growth, encouraging creativity, and instilling a desire to serve God and others.
