Job Description
Provide diagnostic quality radiographs for physicians and/or physician
assistants while protecting employees and patients from unnecessary radiation
and usage of appropriate protection standards.

We have an opportunity
for a Radiology Technologist in our OrthoCarolina University office.
The Radiology Technologist will provide diagnostic quality radiographs for
physicians and/or physician assistants while protecting employees and patients
from unnecessary radiation and usage of appropriate protection standards.
Essential Functions
* Demonstrates competency in positioning of all radiological procedures as
prescribed by departmental policy.
* Communicates with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history,
confirm acknowledgment of patients' understanding and address any questions
or concerns.
* Positions patients and selects exposure factors for various radiologic
examinations and provides patient with radiation protection and safety in
accordance with prescribed methods.
* Logs radiological procedures completed, processes charges and related
paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
* Maintains cleanliness of examination rooms and stocks necessary medical
and/or radiological supplies in the department. Compliance with
all OrthoCarolina policy and procedures.
* Assists with the transportation of patients between the examination module(s)
and the Radiology department. Assist with patient flow in the examination
module(s) as directed by a supervisor.
Skills and Abilities
* Ability to operate various manufacturer types of Radiology suite equipment,
(i. e. Siemens/GE/Philips).
* Skill in proficient use of various manufacturer types of Digital Radiology
(DR) and Computer Radiology (CR) reader systems.
* Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting or
notifying supervisor.
* Skill in positioning patients properly and performing quality diagnostic
radiographs.
* Observes safety and security procedures.
Qualifications
* Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program approved by the American
Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the American Medical Association.
* Minimum of one year experience as an x-ray tech with an orthopedic
background.
* Professional license or certification requirements:
* Registered Radiology Tech by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist
(AART) or ARRT registry eligible.
* Current CPR certification recommended.
