  • vision: Academic and Student Affairs Department: Counseling Center Reports to: Counseling Center Director Employment Status: Full Time Part Time Calendar Year Academic Year 9 months 10 months JOB SUMMARY: The Clinical Counselor is one of the professional staff members who comprise the staff of the Counseling Center. Reporting to the Director of the Counseling Center, the Clinical Counselor provides direct service mental health counseling to the undergraduate student body, and delivers psycho-educational programming. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements below are intended to describe the principal duties of the person or persons assigned to this job. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties and responsibilities. Lasell University has the right to add or change the job responsibilities at any time. 1. Provide direct service to members of the Lasell College student body: conduct drop-in and intake sessions; provide short term counseling; provide case management services for off-campus referrals when long term therapy and/or specialized treatment is required; coordinate care with collateral off-campus providers and consulting psychiatrist, when deemed necessary; respond to student mental health emergencies; work with Director to coordinate mental health care for students returning to campus after psychiatric hospitalizations; maintain appropriate client records, including case documentation in confidential files, and scheduling and data collection through Titanium. 2. As necessary, provide intake and counseling sessions for students referred through Lasell’s Conduct system, including students who have been transported to the hospital for alcohol-related issues. 3. Provide consultation to Lasell staff and faculty, and families of students, within guidelines of client confidentiality. 4. Work with colleagues on Counseling Center staff to design and implement campus-wide, psycho-educational outreach programs on relevant developmental topics related to mental health and healthy relationships. Assist with the training of Resident Assistants, Area Coordinators, Orientation Leaders, Peer Mentors, etc. as required. 5. Communication: students and their families; faculty, staff and administration; establish and maintain close working relationships with colleagues across campus, including (but not limited to): various Student Affairs functional units, Campus Police, the Advising Office, and the Academic Achievement Center. 6. Other duties as assigned. Tier Structure Subject to the completion of a Remote Work Agreement, this is a Tier 2 – Hybrid/flex position requiring on-campus work while allowing for some remote work as well. Requirements

Candidates must hold a master's degree in a counseling-related field and possess current professional licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (LICSW, LMHC, or psychology). Experience in mental health counseling, preferably within a college or university setting, is required.
