Job Description
A Day in the Life
The Munson Behavioral Health Counselor 1 is a member of the behavioral health team and works with patients who experience substance use and / or mental health disorders. The Behavioral Health Counselor 1 is responsible for supporting patients, coordinating patient care or wider behavioral health initiatives, and representing behavioral health throughout the hospital and wider community.

What’s Required
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree
- For outpatient behavioral health – requires either the CADC, CAADC, (Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor or Certified Advanced Alcohol & Drug Counselor) OR the ability to obtain the credential and meet all requirements within the 3 year time frame.
- BLS required - can be obtained within 60 days of hire
