Key Responsibilities

The Clinical Social Worker interviews and evaluates patients and families to identify social, emotional, and economic barriers to medical care, developing and implementing social work treatment plans utilizing community resources. They provide psycho-social therapy, coordinate with other disciplines, interpret psycho-social aspects of illness in team conferences, and assist with discharge planning.

Requirements

Required experience includes a Master’s Degree from an Accredited School of Social Work and evidence of continuing education, along with familiarity with legal requirements regarding abuse reporting and custody. Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, and registration as an Associate Clinical Social Worker in California is strongly preferred.
