Job DetailsJob Location: TX-Kerrville KROC - Kerrville, TX 78028Position Type: Part Time with Benefits 20 or MoreEducation Level: High School Diploma/GEDJob Shift: DayJob Category: RecreationABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY Schedule/Hours: Part-time and occasional Evening and or Saturday This position is responsible for: Implements, monitors, and leads children participating in programs and services within the Kroc Academy after-school program, camps, activities and events.

Evaluates activities and provides recommendations to supervisor(s) regarding program enhancements. Serves as a youth mentor to ensure academic success, recreational and art exposure, healthy lifestyles, and good character are goals for all participants.

Builds and maintains a professional relationship with program participants and their families to help advance the mission of The Salvation Army Kroc Center and Kroc Academy. Ensures the security, safety, cleanliness, and exceptional hygiene is maintained for all campers.

Duty 1: Provides constant care for the needs of children/youth in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy manner; recognizes mentorship opportunities while acknowledging the strengths, challenges, preferences, and general attitude of each child; explains Kroc Academy offerings and aligns program options with individual goals.

Duty 2: Infuses the gospel within programs as provided by supervisor(s) and/or Corps staff; emphasizes Bible verses, draws conclusions between Biblical themes and activities/projects.

Duty 3: Provides opportunities for physical and mental stimulation through both inside and outside learning activities Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to meet attendance requirements.

Ability to participate in a variety of sporting events including throwing and catching a ball, running and jumping. Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.

Education and Experience High school diploma or G.E.D. required, and six months experience providing adult supervision to children in a camp, school or community center environment preferred, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
