Occupational Therapist - Outpatient

Our growing OT/Hand Therapy team provides exceptional patient care in collaboration with leading hand surgeons, including the University of Rochester Hand Surgery Group.

We are seeking a motivated individual, either a CHT or an OT working towards CHT certification, with experience in neurological outpatient therapy also considered.

Schedule: Full time, Mon-Fri day hours. May include some evenings up until 7pm.

Pay Range: $35.00 -$45.00, based on experience.

Main Function

• Plans, coordinates, evaluates and provides Inpatient Occupational Therapy services in accordance with standards of the AOTA and The Occupational Therapy Practice Act, NYS Department of Health, and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals.
• Evaluates and treats upper extremity conditions (pre and post-op), with timely documentation and custom orthotic fabrication.
• Effectively leads the activities of designated discipline.
• Actively supports the mission, goals, and objectives of the Health System.

Required Job Specific Competencies

• The Occupational Therapist must be able to demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret each patient's requirements relative to age specific needs and to the care needed for effective treatment.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration with surgeons and referring providers area essential.
• Must demonstrate the skills necessary to evaluate and treat injuries within their scope of practice.
• Additionally, the Occupational Therapist must be competent in the clinical application of therapeutic modalities.

Qualifications

• NYS Occupational Therapy licensure/registration required
• Baccalaureate of Science from an Accredited Occupational Therapy Program required
• Master's or Doctorate prepared preferred

• Hand Therapy experience strongly preferred.

• Certified Hand Therapist preferred.

• Custom orthotic fabrication skills preferred.

• CPR Certification required within 3 months of employment

• Ongoing accredited continuing education as required by NYS licensure or

Certification

• Minimum one year experience as an Occupational Therapist preferred

Pay Range: $35.00 -$45.00

Starting Range: Based on Experience
