Job DetailsJob Location: Rice Community Hospital - Lyons, KS 67554Position Type: Full TimeJob Title: Full-Time Advanced Practice Provider- APRN or PA Department: Lyons Family Clinic JOB SUMMARY: Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care in a rural clinic environment. The APP is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, clinically monitoring, and managing patients using advanced assessment skills and clinical therapeutic knowledge. They provide comprehensive family medicine services to patients of all ages, addressing chronic conditions, preventive care, and same-day visits. APP will cover night shift call at the emergency department at local critical access hospital an average of one night a week. APP will work alongside physician colleagues to round on inpatient, skilled and long-term care patients. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Patient Assessment and Triage: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, vital signs, and physical examinations. Diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illnesses independently or as part of a healthcare team 2. Diagnosis and Treatment: Formulate differential diagnoses based on assessment findings and diagnostic tests. Initiate and manage treatment plans, including ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, administering medications, and performing procedures within the scope of practice. Collaborate with physicians and specialists for consultations and referrals. 3. Patient Education and Support: Educate patients and families on their conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions. Offer emotional support and counseling during critical situations. 4. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes. Report patient status and collaborate with the healthcare team for continuity of care. 5. Quality Improvement and Compliance: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance ER processes and patient outcomes. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, policies, and procedures. 6. Emergency Care Management: Provide emergency interventions such as CPR, wound care, airway management, and other life-saving measures. Monitor and manage patients in critical conditions, ensuring appropriate interventions are taken promptly. Prioritize patients based on the severity of their condition and provide immediate interventions. 7. Administrative: Participate in committee work Assume other duties and responsibilities as necessary QUALIFICATIONS: Current and unrestricted APRN or PA license Minimum 2 years experience as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications, Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and communication skills Ability to work efficiently in high-stress environments and manage multiple priorities This job description is not intended as an all-inclusive list of responsibilities that may be assigned and is subject to change based on the needs of the organization.
